Job Vacancy For Quantity Surveyor At Edlorm Housing Limited
Quantity Surveyor is wanted for immediate employment by Edlorm Housing Limited
Typical Duties Include:
• Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs
• Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for contracts
• Coordination of work effort
• Advising on a range of legal and contractual issues
• Valuing completed work and arranging for payments
• Assist in preparation and adherence to project purchasing targeting and costing budgets
• Ensure that business commercial processes are adhered to at project level.
• Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements
• Performing risk and value management and cost control
• Analyzing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
• Planning the work and efficiently organizing the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines
• Preparation of specifications when required,
• Advising on procurement strategy;
• Supervising staff.
Qualification Required & Experience
• A University Degree in Building Technology, Quantity Surveying/Building Economics or its equivalent from a recognized University;
• A minimum of eight (4) years post graduate relevant experience
• Have registration with the relevant Professional Body in Ghana or others recognized in Ghana with a valid practicing certificate;
• Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and with MS Office Suite;Must be familiar with the Budget market, and Prices of construction materials/rates
• Must have knowledge in Project Budget and the Operations of Project Budget Systems
• Must be able to interpret drawing/specification/Isometric Drawings/Plans, etc
• Extensive experience, working knowledge and familiarity with international funding agency procedures/ and or large private sector construction contracts;
• Demonstrate experience in contract management and administration of complex/multiple projects with several contracts running concurrently;
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Must have knowledge of Ghana’s housing industry, land economics and financial aspects of housing and estate development
