Key roles and responsibilities:

•   Liaise with Production to manage orders and goods flow from third party
•   Build a network of (African) suppliers by traveling and exploring sourcing possibilities to ensure products are sourced at the cost and quality targets set by Product Merchandising
•   Create and ensure suppliers maintain product quality and ethical standards
•   Set up and execute and order process that provides transparent pricing, on time deliveries and clear return / claim procedures
•   Manage process of sample creation, translating creative ideas and product line plans into products that meet commercial targets
•   Create long term vision and strategy for local Ready To Wear own production, manage all existing local Ready To Wear production (own and outsourced) in order to ensure brand, quality and commercial targets are met
•   Set up ad execute processes that supply the right labels and trims according to international legistation

Qualification Required & Experience

•   1st degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
•   Minimum 5 years experience of fashion product sourcing in a medium sized international business with good network of suppliers / factories
•   Proven technical Ready To Wear skills including knowledge of fabrics, patterns and production techniques
•   Strong understanding of branding, brand management, product design and product development processes in the fashion industry
•   Good understanding of commercial requirements (including Profit & Loss, sales and margin targets)
•   Good understanding of key retail functions especially Buying and Merchandise Planning & Control
•   Good communication skills to be able to influence and co-ordinate between Design, Supply Chain, Sales (Retail and Wholesale) and Finance
•   Fluent in English, knowledge in French as an added advantage
•   Willingness to travel
