Job Summary

•   Work closely with the Mine Engineering team to build a Reclamation Plan that ensures concurrent reclamation and meets the agreed closure criteria;
•   Develop and update as needed Closure and Reclamation Guidelines and criteria, assess and ensure their compliance;
•   Manage the collection, storage, and interpretation of environmental monitoring data related to reclamation trials
•   and reclamation success criteria in accordance with the project Reclamation and Closure
•   Plan and Environmental Management Plan;
•   Supervise all reclamation works including nursery operations, field revegetation , installation of sediment and erosion control measures, and conduct erosion maintenance activities etc;
•   Prepare reports and other required documents to satisfy corporate, legal and regulatory reporting requirements including supporting documentation for reclamation bonding;
•   Work closely with the Mining Department to ensure adequate topsoil recovery from newly disturbed areas;
•   Participate in the development of the future Final Closure Plan and ensure execution of long term reclamation plans;
•   Develop and implement as needed monitoring program to assess reclamation and closure success;
•   Coordinate with consultants on the development of studies related to reclamation and closure plans as needed.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   BSc. in Environmental Management, Agronomy, forestry management or other science related field such as botany, biology;
•   Minimum of 6 years environmental management experience working in the mining or related industry, 2 years of which must be in reclamation and reforestation or related activities;
•   Strong leadership and interpersonal skills;
•   Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, database management and GIS experience;
•   Ability to ensure proper coordination and organization of work among team;
•   Well developed oral and written communication skills;
•   Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license and have the ability to drive in rough terrain.
