We are looking for a results oriented individual who thinks outside the box to contribute towards growth and profitability by the development and implementation of sales strategies and plans to maximize newspaper and media sales revenue within the framework of the annual budget and overall business development strategy of the company.

Job Purpose

Ensuring the achievement of the sales targets for all the company's products within the framework of the annual budget and overall business objectives of the company

Key Accountabilities

•  Plan and implement the annual sales and circulation programme ensuring the timely delivery of newspapers to vendors, agents and institutions in order to achieve circulation and sales revenue targets
•  Develop new sales channels and systems to increase the Company's market share and revenue
•  Conduct market visits and meetings with vendors and institutional subscribers to explore opportunities for increasing the circulation of all of the company's newspapers
•  Build a sales and circulation database, conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to facilitate decision taking when required
•  Attend editorial conferences and make input into the content of the newspapers
•  Manage the staff of the Sales & Circulation Unit

•  Strong busienss awareness and analytical skills
•  Proven track record of sales management, innovation and creativity to exceed targets
•  Custoemr centred orientation
•  Strong analytical, team leadership and supervisory skills
•  Ability to work to strict deadlines and under minimum supervision
•  Flexible attitude to working arrangements
•  Strong computer literacy skills
•  Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills

Qualification Required & Experience

•  A degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Social Science or Communication from a reputable tertiary
institution
•  6 years post qualification relevant experience gained from working in a dynamic working environment
•  Working knowledge of the print media industry would be a distinct advantage
