Reporting:
Functionally report to the Public Relations Manager at CWSA, but receive professional and supervisory direction form the Country Team Leader of Triple-S Ghana.
Job Purpose:
• The overall objective of this position is to provide strategic direction to Triple-S communications activities and produce high-quality communications products to support the projects' objectives
• Facilitate updating of communications and advocacy strategy and development of annual work plan
• Manage publications pipeline, including liaising with graphic designers, printers, etc
• Ensuring the consistent application of Triple-S (and IRC) branding
• Write web articles, newsletters, press releases, and annual reports
• Provide writing and editing support for production of briefing notes, policy briefs, fact sheets, research reports, etc
• Manage publicity and materials for events
• Support colleagues to produce impactful presentations
• Support annual project reporting
The ideal candidate will:
• Work with Triple-S team to continually update communications and advocacy strategy and manage implementation, including media and outreach
• Manage development of communications products (newsletter, briefing notes for policy makers and practitoners, manuals, fact sheets, research papers, Power Point presentations) and provide writing and editing support
• Manage website, including creating and uploading content and tracking user statistics
Contract Period: The position will be on a one year renewable contract, subject to good performance.
Qualification Required & Experience
The ideal candidates must have:
• A Master's degree in Communication, Social Sciences, or related field and a minimum of five years relevant experience or a Bachelors degree and ten years relevant experience
• Demonstrated skill in writing and editing for different target audiences (e.g. policy makers, practitioners, general public)
• Experience with managing communication teams and performing at a high professional level
• Experience in use of multi-channel, multi-media in publicing events
• Some knowledge of graphic design and design and layout software are desirable
• Experience in the Water Sanitation and Hygiene sector and strong media network are also added advantages
Other Requirements:
• Ghanaian nationality
• Ability to work in multi-cultural environment
• Knowledge of the local context and the water and the water sector in Ghana
• Willingness to travel reqularly within Ghana and internationally
