Title: Senior Officer, Diamond Operations
Reports To: Principal Officer, Diamond Operations
Job Summary: Responsible for assisting in diamond trade, certification, and compliance, ensuring alignment with national and international regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the diamond operations, including inventory management, processing, and documentation.
• Verify the authenticity, grading, and valuation of diamonds, ensuring all transactions meet industry best practices, traceability requirements, and conflict-free trade principles.
• Ensure compliance with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS).
• Monitor and track diamond transactions to detect and prevent illicit trade, financial crime risks, and non-compliant activities within the sector.
• Develop reports on diamond industry risks, compliance issues, and trade performance, identifying emerging risks, regulatory gaps, and opportunities for strengthening governance.
• Assist in the implementation of quality control measures to ensure the integrity and accuracy of diamond assessments.
Qualification Required & Experience
Skills and Qualification Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Mineral Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in diamond valuation, trade monitoring, or regulatory compliance.
• Experience in inventory control.
• Understanding of diamond operations and industry practices.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in data entry and management.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
