Job Vacancy For Senior Reporting Officer



Job Summary

• The successful candidate will join the Finance Department as the Senior Reporting Officer.
• (S)He will report to the Head of Financial Reporting and will work closely with the financial reporting manager to ensure the provision of accurate financial reports for all business stakeholders at all times.
• The individual will also be the technical lead for all compliance requirements under the International Financial Reporting Standards and the Accounting Policy Manual.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the country consolidation activities and work with both regional and local finance personnel to resolve issues.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with both statutory and Group requirements for management control purposes and audit.
• Produce value-adding variance analysis and commentary for all financial statements to inform management decision-making.
• Provide timely performance reports to various business units within the organization
• Responsible for monthly recognition of revenues in line with agreed financial and management reporting frameworks
• Maintaining a register of all products/services with respect to their basic description from a commercial perspective, charging mechanics on the billing systems and the accounting treatment.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and work with other business units to ensure realization
• Ensure Mobile money platform is always reconciled with the general ledger on a weekly basis
• Perform accounting research for new business transactions
• Closing and opening financial periods in the financial systems on a monthly basis
• Review cost allocation of overheads, indirect costs and ensure it is accurate and in line with best practice and business needs
• Review month end closing and reporting and identify cost trends. Investigate and report on unusual trends
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines

Qualification Required & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in economics or a Business-related field
• ACCA, CIMA or ICAG (Final Level)
• 3-4 years’ work experience in a similar role

Core Competencies

• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Detailed understanding of billing systems from a financial perspective
• Organised and detail oriented
• Detailed knowledge in IFRS especially in the areas of revenue and provisions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Worked with Hyperion Financial Management System for data uploading purposes
• Expert Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft product
