The National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) invites applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians who are goal oriented, result-driven with exceptional leadership qualities and enthusiasm for appointment into the under-mentioned position:- Solicitor Secretary
Object Of The Position:
To provide strategic and technical direction for the effective management of all legal matters of the Authority.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Serves as Secretary to the NPRA Board and Director of Legal and Policy Division
• Formulates the strategy, annual business plans, policies and procedures in line with the overall organization business strategy
• Ensures the enforcement of rules and regulations, and the effective and efficient resolution of disputes
• Tracks and reports on the high risk legal issues arising from potential and existing contracts/agreements, litigation cases, changes in relevant legistations, and takes adequate and timely mitigating actions to safeguard the organisation's interest
• Ensures continuous system and quality enhancements by monitoring and evaluating the respective activities and processes implemented in the division
• Prepares Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) between the Board and Donor Agencies and institutions as may be required
• Advises on areas of the statutes establishing the organsiation that need to be reviewed in conformity with other related laws and best practice.
Qualification Required & Experience
Person Specification
• A master’s degree in Public Policy or any related field from a recognized University
• Post-qualification training in Legislative Drafting will be an added advantage
• Must have been called to the Bar for a minimum of eight (8) years, with (5) years professional experience and knowledge in Commercial Law and the Financial Industry
• Must have worked in a senior management position for a minimum of five (5) years
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have strong management and organisational skills
• Must be computer literate
