Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd. (“KRGL”) is a fully owned subsidiary of Asanko Gold Inc., a company
which is building the Asanko Gold Mine, Ghana’s next goldmine. The vision of Asanko is to become a mid-tier gold mining company that maximizes value for all stakeholders.
KRGL is seeking to employ a qualified person to fill the role below. This is a permanent position with a competitive work roster resident in a single status camp environment. The camp’s facilities include fully serviced air-conditioned rooms, Wi-Fi access, laundry service, wet mess, sporting facilities (swimming pool, gym, volleyball/basketball, tennis, pool tables, table soccer, soccer grounds). Remuneration package includes attractive salary and performance based incentive payments.

Position: Stores Controller
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate expeditious delivery and receiving of inbound stock and non-stock items (foreign and local), and ensure their proper storage and internal distribution
• Ensure that discrepancies on orders received are communicated promptly to clearing agent/freight orwarder/supplier whichever is applicable
• Ensure all Goods Received Notes (GRNs) are captured in the transaction system within 24 hours
• Prepare for export, samples being sent for testing, as well as equipment or components being dispatched for off-site repairs
• Maintain constant good housekeeping at warehouses
• Ensure Stores Requisitions unable to be served off the shelf are recorded as appropriate and submitted to Materials Planning for necessary corrective action
• Develop and implement a perpetual stock-count program
• Salvage Operations - receipt and disposal of salvage material from production departments
• Conduct half-yearly statutory stock audits
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures with respect to receiving, storage and issuing activities
• Hold regular toolbox meetings and ensure strict enforcement of and adherence to company Health Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and Codes of Practices
• Report and arrange replacement or correction of sub-standard items/conditions/risks and unsafe acts to the appropriate authorities
Maintain and prepare the following operational reports
• Container turn-around times; Internal lead times for receiving (i.e., time lag between goods arrival and receipt into stock or into system); Lead time for dispatching outbound offsite repairs items No. of wrong items in stock identified per week/month/year; % deviation of computer stock from physical stock at each stock audit.
Qualification Required & Experience
• A Tertiary Qualification in Commerce, Supply Chain or Logistics;
• Qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply or equivalent professional institution;
• Minimum of five (5) years working experience as a stores supervisor in Materials Planning for mining and
process plant spares and consumables, PPEs and other safety-related equipment and consumables;
• Good Computer Skills in related packages
• Must be conversant with the Procurement Act and related regulations of the Republic of Ghana and internationally recognized warehouse/inventory standards
• Thorough understanding of supply chain practices procedures
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Procurement, Supply Chain in the Mining environment.
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure with little supervision
