Job Summary (Description of main purpose of job):

• A Surveyor supports the surveying team by undertaking various surveying tasks, including measuring land, collecting data, and producing accurate survey reports.
• This role is essential for providing essential information to guide construction projects and ensure their successful execution.

Key Tasks:

• Conduct field surveys, including topographic, boundary, and construction layout surveys.
• Operate surveying instruments and equipment, such as total stations, GPS devices, and levels.
• Assist in marking reference points, lines, and stakes for construction projects based on survey data and construction plans.
• Collect and record survey data accurately, including measurements, elevations, distances, and angles.
• Ensure data is organized and properly documented.
• Participate in site analysis to identify potential challenges and constraints that may affect construction activities.
• Verify the accuracy of survey measurements and calculations to ensure data integrity.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during field surveys to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment.
• Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure accurate measurements and reliable operation.
• Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs.
• Collaborate with supervisors and other team members to communicate survey findings and provide necessary data for project planning and execution.
• Continuously improve surveying skills and stay updated on industry best practices and advancements.
• Manage, supervise, and mentor assistant surveyors to maintain high levels of Survey control and generation of appropriate records.
• Install accurate benchmarks and stations prior to start of works.
• Check and certify the existing benchmarks and stations regularly.
• Carry out site survey and produce mapping, contours etc as required by the Engineer.
• Calculate heights, volumes and areas are required by the Engineer.
• Set-out structures are required by the Engineer.
• Carry out secondary checks on setting-out and survey work by Engineers.
• Produce as-built drawings

Qualification Required & Experience

(e) Essential Qualifications :

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Geomatic/Geodetic Engineering, Civil Engineering.

(f) Essential Experience :

• +3 years’ working experience.
• Knowledge of surveying equipment and instruments.
• Familiarity with surveying software and computer-aided drafting (CAD) programs.
