Description Of Job
CARE International is recruiting candidates for an anticipated Complementary Basic Education project in Ghana.
Job Summary:
The Team Leader will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the CBE program, supervising the core Management Unit team and liaising with GES senior management, DFID, and the Management Unit Board.
• The TL will ensure that the MU identifies, contracts, audits, monitors, and provides capacity building training to the implementing partners to deliver CBE programmes.
• The MU will also work with other departments in the MOE on curricula, supporting the minimum standards of a CBE package, and monitor them while enabling the Government to learn how best to deliver CBE to out-of-school Children.
• The Team Leader will also work with the GPE process to ensure that there is synergy between the two programmes and with the CBE Alliance to advocate for a wider use of the standard package of CBE.
Qualification Required & Experience
Key Qualification, Skills & Competences:
• Master’s degree or higher in Education, Management or a related field is desired
• 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in educational development, drawing on particular experience in teacher training, community mobilization, education management, technical assistance to government ministries, curriculum development and/or learning assessments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate international, local staff and counterparts into a cohesive, productive team.
• Experience working on large-scale projects and with donor project management policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
• Skill in planning and executing the scale up of models in a short period of time.
• Demonstrated experience in influencing government policy making, working with coalitions to campaign for policy changes, disseminating knowledge, communications, etc.
