Project Brief:

• As an implementing partner of the BMZ program develoPPP, GIZ cooperates with companies that want to invest sustainably in Ghana and expand their local operations. Therefore, GIZ Ghana implements joint development partnership projects (DPP) with the private sector to promote training, employment, and integrated approaches to promote sustainable economic development in Ghana. • The Organic Waste to Value Initiative (OWVTI) is one such DPP project, aiming at competence-based training, the creation of green jobs, and the improvement of working conditions along the Organic Waste to Value chain.

Scope of Role:

• In your role as technical advisor for the OWVTI, you are responsible for the technical, substantive, and organizational implementation of the project’s measures and activities.
• In consultation with your line manager, you also assume tasks related to planning, steering, and monitoring the project, including project administration tasks. You are also responsible for providing specialist support to colleagues, and partners, ensuring the quality of the commission’s outcomes.

Tasks:

In the role as a Technical Advisor for the develoPPP measure “Organic Waste-to-Value Initiative” your main activities are:

• Develop organic waste-to-value TVET curricula and its accreditation by CTVET in close coordination with MDF West Africa and
CEL and supported by selected short-term experts.
• Organise workshops/ training programmes for awareness creation.
• Support stakeholder development and engagement for project implementation.
• Technical Steering of the grant agreement closed with CEL
• General day-to-day project administration, management and financial management support.
• Represent the project and connect with relevant stakeholders and projects externally but also GIZ internally.
• Ensure a good flow of communication and information in a complex set-up involving multiple organizations.
• Prepare reports and presentation documents, including monitoring and evaluation, documentation, success stories, and best practice examples in close coordination with the project manager of the company partner MDF.
• Assist with the acquisition of new develoPPP projects in the waste sector and beyond.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Master’s Degree (MSc, MA, MBA) in an area that is related to the project objectives, with a focus on project management, waste management, vocational education, or advisory services for private companies.
• At least 3-5 years’ professional experience in project management.
• (Initial) Experience with TVET in Ghana.
• Proven expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation.
• Very good working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications
(e.g. MS Office & Excel).
• Very strong communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders and facilitate networking.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to perform effectively in a multicultural work environment.
• Proficient in spoken and written English with good negotiation skills
