The Institute of Chartered Accountants-Ghana is the professional accountancy body established by an Act of Parliament to regulate accountancy and audit practice in Ghana.
ICAG is a body corporate established by law, which among others, regulates the practice of Accountancy in the country, including certifying persons who can practise as auditors. It is committed to strengthening the accountancy profession, improving support for members and safeguarding public interest.
Description Of Job
Responsibilities:
• Planning and executing researches into technical issues, with a view to making pronouncement on such issues
• Ensuring research into technical matters related to the development, growth and expansion of the accountancy profession
• Conducting web searches for documents and information relevant for promoting knowledge acquisition and development of the accountancy profession
• Assisting with questionnaire design and other survey methodologies
• Proofreading and amending research data whenever necessary
• Performing needs assessment of members and students of the Institute periodically
• Assisting to prepare presentations, manuscripts and other project-related documentation
• Any other duty that the Technical Director/CEO may assign from time-to-time
The Technical and Research Manager will report to the Technical and Research Director
Qualification Required & Experience
A qualified accountant (ICAG, ACCA, ACMA, ICAN) with three years post-qualification working experience, or A university degree in Accounting plus a research-based post-graduate qualification with a minimum of five years working experience
Other Desirable Attributes:
• Knowledge in research methods will be an added advantage
• The best suited individual requires exceptional communication, quantitative and analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strength in computer literacy is highly desirable
