Job Vacancy For Transport Manager
An established and reputable logistics company with branches at Tema Port, Kotoka International Airport and Takoradi Ports in seeking a highly skilled and technology-savvy Transport Manager to lead its extensive fleet operations. This role requires a dynamic individual who can leverage technology to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Technology Integration: Utilise fleet management software and advanced tracking tools to monitor vehicle performance, optimize, routes and ensure real-time updates for operations
• Data Analytics: Analyse operational data to identify trends, improve decision-making and implement cost-saving measures
• Fleet optimization: Oversee vehicle allocation and scheduling to ensure efficient fleet utilization while minimizing downtime
• Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, safety and environment) and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) standards in all operations
• Team Leadership: Train and manage transport personnel to achieve operational goals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
• Maintenance oversight: Develop and monitor fleet maintenance programmes to ensure vehicle reliability and safety
• Operational Excellence: Steamline logistics processes, including freight scheduling, haulage and delivery, to meet and exceed client expectations
• Budget Management: Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising service quality
• Client coordination: Work closely with the customer service to ensure timely delivery and address client concerns effectively
• Sustainability Goals: Develop and implement sustainable transport practices aligned with the company's ESG objectives
Qualification Required & Experience
• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in transport or fleet management, with a proven record of optimizing operations
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in fleet management software, data analytics tools and other logistics technologies
• In-depth knowledge of HSE and ESG standards and their applications in the logistics industry
• Demonstrated ability to manage large fleets and deliver cost-efficient, high-quality transport solutions
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and inspire staff
• Experience in budget preparation and financial management
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Problem-solving abilities with a focus on innovation and efficiency
• Commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards in transport and logistics management
