Job Vacancy For Unit Manager – Financial At Gold Fields Ghana (Tarkwa)



Gold Fields Ghana is seeking to appoint a competent and trustworthy person who will ensure that financial systems, processes, policies and resources within the Financial Department are in place and aligned to meet the short and long term demands of skills and competencies required by the company in order to remain competitive in the industry. The incumbent will take full cognizance of applicable legislation and best practice principles, with the ultimate goal and aim to manage the daily activities of the operation in a responsible manner.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Managing a large establishment's Accounting functions
•  Preparing Financial Reports to both internal and external stakeholders
•  Ensuring that reliable and timely cash forecasts are prepared
•  Understanding, interpreting and applying relevant tax laws in business transactions
•  Ensuring that periodic reports meet set time frames and targets
•  Ensuring that effective accounting systems are developed and implemented
•  Ensuring teamwork and supervision of subordinates to achieve set targets and objectives
•  Liaising with relevant officials of other departments in order to ensure that best practice accounting services are delivered

Qualification Required & Experience

The appointee should have:

•  BSc Accounting and Finance with Minimum of 5 years experience in similar position
•  Be a fully qualified member of a recognised Accountancy body. (ACCA, CA Gh, CIMA)
•  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
•  Abreast with IFRS and its applications in the mining industry
•  Understanding and application of SOX frameworks
•  Well developed oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and levels
•  Medical fitness for the position and environment
•  Strong analytical, interpersonal and organisational  skills
•  A hands-on approach and be willing to work long hours to obtain required results
•  Valid Ghanaian driver's licence and proficiency in driving light vehicles
