Job Vacancy For Unit Manager – Medical Services At Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd
Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd. ("KRGl") is a fully-owned subsidiary of Asanko Gold Inc., a company which is building the Asanko Gold Mine, Ghana's next gold mine. The vision of Asanko is to become a mid-tier gold mining company that maximizes value for all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and supervise all land acquisitions programs;
• Assist Unit Manager Land Access in land management /access planning;
• Represent the company during crop/ property valuation to ensure fair assessment;
• Maintain up to date data on Land acquisition and stool lands;
• Ensure land acquisition protocols are in line with mining and minerals Act ( Act 2006);
• Provide framework to guide stool lands title and stool boundaries for royalty distribution;
• Supervise valuation and crop assessment on behalf of Asanko Gold Mine projects including exploration drilling to avoid damage of uncompensated properties;
• Ensure that Clearing Permits for land takes are duly approved before commencement of activities;
• Organize and sensitize farmers on compensation Mining Laws, policy and procedures, and organise regular meetings with farmers and other stakeholders with respect to land assess;
• Implement grievance resolution mechanism for affected farmers/ property owners;
• Assist in designing and implementing Alternative Livelihood Support Program under the Asanko Gold Mine sustainability program; and
• Protect and make good use of company asset. GPS, Maps etc.
Qualification Required & Experience
• First Degree in land economy or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution;
• Certificate issued by the Ghana Institute of Surveyors (GIS) will be an added advantage;
• Minimum of 5 years experience in similar position in Mining or related industry;
• Good knowledge in Land management and mine land take;
• Knowledgeable in Minerals and mining Act (Act 2006) and LI 2175;
• Demonstrate good understanding of community engagement;
• Good understanding of internal standard operating procedure (SOP) for land management;
• Good computer skills in related Microsoft Office products;
• Strong Analytical, Interpersonal and Organizational Skills;
• A hands-on approach and be willing to work long hours to obtain required results;
• Proven Knowledge in computer database management systems;
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills;
• Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license and proficiency in driving light vehicles;
