The Council of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani announces for the information of the general public and interested applicants, vacancy for the following positions. Council hereby invites applications from qualified and interested applicants for the respective positions which would become vacant effective 1st August, 2023.

Job Summary

• The University Librarian is the Professional and Administrative Head of the University Library system
• The University Librarian shall be responsible for the management of all libraries of the University and related information and communication materials and resources of the University

Qualification Required & Experience

The Applicant must:

• Possess a PhD in Librarianship, Information Studies, Information Science, Information Management or in any other relevant area
• Have served as Deputy Librarian in a University or in an analogous institution for a minimum of 3 years or must have served in a relevant field in industry, commerce or public service for a minimum of 13 years
• Have attained the rank to which they are being appointed from an analogous institution
• Be a member of a relevant professional body

General Requirements

The person to be appointed to any of the position above must:

• Be dynamic, self-motivated and competent with proven ability
• Be a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Have the ability to exercise sound judgment
• Exhibit high sense of initiative and managerial and organizational skills
• Have attained the rank to which they are being appointed from an analogous institution
• Be a member of a relevant professional body

Terms of Appointment

The appointment, which is full-time, shall be for 5 years in the first instance and may be subject to renewal for another term of up to 5 years but not beyond the retiring age of 60 years. The successful applicant must be able to serve the full term of 5 years before attaining the compulsory statutory retirement age of 60 years
