Job Purpose:
Under the general guidance of the WASH Specialist (WATER), the WASH Officer (NOB) is accountable for providing support for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and co-ordination of field based initiatives in relation to Water Safety, Household Water treatment and Safe Storage and Water Supply Sustainability and support the achievement of planned objectives of the work plan, aligned with country Programme goals and strategy

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Monitor and co-ordinate the implementation of the water quality module of the GLSS at the field level
•  To monitor and provide technical assistance for the implementation of water supply sustainability initiatives in collaboration with the Community Water and Sanitation Agency and other partners at the sub-national level
•  To provide technical assistance and monitor the sealed up implementation of HWTS at sub-national level, with particular emphasis of the sealing up of feasible technologies
•  GoG-UNICEF WASH Programme in the Volta Region, co-ordinate all regional level activities with IR leaders

Qualification Required & Experience

Minimum Requirements:
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Public Health/Social Science, Master's degree is an asset

Work Experience:

At least 6 years progressively responsible professional work in WASH with experience in water quality management

Language Proficiency:

Fluency in English required. An other UN language is an asset
