AngloGold Ashanti (Iduapriem) Limited is looking for a highly qualified and motivated person for the role of Welder.

Role Summary

• The purpose for this role is to perform structural welding repairs

Role Accountabilities

• Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety and environmental policies
• Work safely in all areas and identify potential safety hazards and work with management to correct them
• Receives instructions, prints and work orders for the job. Plan details of working procedure and tools/materials requirements
• Analyses engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly and welding operations
• Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts
• Fabricates equipment by cutting, buring and welding various materials utilizing acetyelene, oxyacetylene and plasma ARC welding techniques
• Undertaking maintenance in a timeous manner to meet targets
• Ensuring that areas of responsibility are maintained to a high standard of housekeeping
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded in addition to set up and assembly
• Executing daily routine work strictly accordint to procedurs and standards

Qualification Required & Experience

Must possess the following qualification from a recognised educational institution

• Minimum of NVTI I or equivalent qualification in welding with at least 3 years working experience in mining or similar environment
• Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
• Experience in safe lifting practices
