A reputable company in the oil and gas industry is seeking a qualified and competent individual who meets the requirements to apply for the following role:- General Manager, Assets & Infrastructure
Job Purpose:
The General Manager, Assets and infrastructure is responsible for developing, managing and optimizing the company's infrastructure throughout Ghana whilst combining technical and financial techniques to provide financial return on the company's assets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set the strategy for all within the Assets & Infrastructure department
• Provide advice on financing options for major projects to the MD and the board of directors
• Provide appropriate level of oversight to financial modeling, finance structuring, accounting and compliance for projects
• Responsible for creating fiscal models to assist asset valuations
• Develop and supervise implementation of procedures for network planning, design, construction, operations & maintenance, including commercial and billing activities
• Accountable for management and delivery of the Assets and infrastructure department budget
• Overall responsibility for ensuring safe, reliable and efficient asset operations
• Responsible for compliance with legislative requirements and maintaining contractual, financial and accounting discipline of subordinate units
• Supervise the delivery of responsibilities of each subordinate assets and infrastructure department
• Execute capital projects according to the scope, schedule and budget to prevent budget overspend
• Responsibility for project development: Front-End Engineering Design (FEED)
• Manage contractor activities during the development of project proposal, include definition of project work scope and schedule requirements
• Develop and prepare contracting plans and strategies for solicitation, evaluation and awarding of contract for detailed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC)
• Manage contractor preparation of detailed design drawings, material specifications and procurement, and/or construction bid packages
• Coordinate activities and resolve issues among proponents, contractors and other parties to allow construction activities to progress according to plan and final mechanical completion
• Measure and improve overall asset integrity through development and delivery of Maintenance Excellence
• Ensure asset maintenance work programs are enacted safely and efficiently and aligned to operational plans
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering
• Master degree in Engineering or MBA
• Project Management Certification preferred
• 15 plus years working experience in the utility industry, preferably in oil/gas transmission, and/or in asset management
• 10 years management experience
• Outstanding leadership in an executive management position
• Strong commercial acumen
• Knowledge of OHSE rules and regulations
• Experience supervising technical projects
• Experience supervising both technical and non-technical staff
• Experience of resource management on large and complex delivery programs
• Experience of managing a central PMO function will be a plus
• Experienced working to tight deadlines
• Experience working across multiple cultures preferred
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Ability to lead and motivate people
• Board/CEO level communication and presentation skills
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Strong communication skills-oral, written and presentation
