Job Vacancy For General Manager – Finance and Strategy
Our client is one of the long-established and leading non-banking financial institution in Ghana. It is licensed by the Bank of Ghana to carry on the business of savings and loans as defined by the Banking Act, 2004 (Act 673). The company has its head office in Accra with strategically located its business and operations.
We are therefore looking to recruit executives who are very dynamic, results-oriented, competent, strategy-focused and who are challenged to lead organizational transformation and development. The position to be filled is: General Manager - Finance and Strategy
Summary of Job Responsibilities
• Responsibility for the total financial controls, compliance, reporting, and strategic functions of the company
Essential duties and accountabilities
• Report to the Managing Director
• Ensure sound financial controls of the company
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with the international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
• Supervise the preparation, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the company's strategic plans and management
• Monitor and advise top management on the financial performance of the company
• Ensure value for money and value creation for the shareholders
• Oversee and responsible for treasury functions
• Ensure adherence to sound controls over company's finances and budgets
• Responsible for budgeting and budgetary controls
• Develop, implement and evaluate sound accounting policies and practices in conformity with IFRS
• Manage all long term and strategic functions and activities of the company
• Ensure sound functioning of all financial and operating communication activities in the company with state of the art technology
• Strategically position the company as a relevant leader in the industry
Qualification Required & Experience
• Master degree or its equivalent in business administration preferably - banking, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, accounting, strategic management or other related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of work experience in finance or accounting environment or Bachelor degree in business - preferably banking, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, accounting, strategic, strategic management or other related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting work environment
• Membership of and current good standing in professional bodies such as ICAG, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CMA, CFA or any comparable certificate
• Ability to manage significant loan portfolio
• Meeting high qualitative and quantitative performance standards
• Competency in T24 banking software is required
• Maintain confidentiality and working independently under reasonable deadlines and schedules
• Demonstrate critical, strategic and analytical competencies
