A Three Star hotel located in East Legon, Accra is looking for a GENERAL MANAGER (GM) with experience in the hotel industry and proven track record of strategic management, leadership and entrepreneurial skills to implement its strategic business plan.

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the board of directors, the GM will be responsible to:

•   Implement the Hotel’s strategic plan and manage any organizational changes therein
•   Lead the remodeling/renovation  of rooms to improve revenue
•   Coordinate activities for expansion of rooms and conference facilities on an adjoining land
•   Oversee an improvement in the hotel’s business in terms of turnover and profitability
•   Manage the finance function of the hotel including financial and budget reporting, management of operational costs and ensure regulatory compliance
•   Liaise with the Operations and Marketing Manager to improve events management, branding and marketing for the hotel

Qualification Required & Experience

•   The successful candidate must have 5 – 10 years working experience in management positions, preferably, in similar hospitality fields (preferably 3 – 5 star hotels) and
•   Must be knowledgeable in hospitality regulations in Ghana.
•   A degree in Economics, Finance, Business Management, Tourism, Hotel Management, Social Science or related field is required. A 2nd degree in related fields is an added advantage.
•   Job Hoppers will not be considered.

Skills

•   The position requires multi experience in business management, finance and project management.
•   The candidate must have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and must be proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management.
•   Knowledge in accounting systems is an added advantage.
•   The candidate must possess abilities of planning and meeting deadlines with energy and willpower to go the extra mile.
