A reputable Rural Bank in the Ashanti Region of Ghana is inviting applications from enterprising young persons for the following position: Head of Credit Department

Duties and responsibilities

Under the general direction of the General Manager, the head of Credit Department shall:

•   Implement and enforce the bank's credit policy
•   Manage Credit and Loan Portfolio of the Bank
•   Be responsible for loan recovery
•   Monitor the disbursement of all loans at branch level
•   Monitor past due loans
•   Train credit officers on their job description and responsibilities
•   analyze delinquent accounts and prepare reports to Credit Committee
•   Prepare periodic departmental reports
•   Maintain departmental structures to meet the goals for the Credit Department
•   Prepare credit statutory and prudential returns
•   Undertake effective credit appraisals
•   Make quarterly provision for bad debt based upon proper ageing classification
•   Supervise all credit activities of the bank
•   Perform other duties as may be assigned by the General Manager

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or LLB or Mathematics or Economics
•   At least five (5) years relevant experience in Banking
•   Proficiency in T24
•   Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
•   Qualitative and quantitative data analytical skills
•   Strong programme management skills are highly desirable
•   Attention to detail and ability to effectively and efficiently perform multiple tasks and balance competing priorities often within a required timeframe
•   Ability to work in a high pressured environment
•   Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
•   Knowledge in all forms of legal requirement in credit delivery and collateral issues

Age limit: Not above 45 years
