A leading multimedia and industrial organization requires an experienced professional who is innovative, creative and a strategic thinker to head the information systems department.

Job Purpose

•   To develop and implement and Corporate IT strategy across all areas of the organization and in accordance with the corporate growth strategy

Key Accountabilities

•   Responsible for the overall functioning of multiple information and communications systems
•   Implement information system strategic plan and policies in line with the business plan and strategies of the company
•   Advise management on IT strategy and business process re-engineering to support business objectives
•   Ensure security and integrity of business data, network and operations
•   Oversee the smooth implementation and function of the corporate ERP system
•   Define and implement user-training programmes
•   Manage budget in line with business strategy

Skills / Competencies required

•   Proven experience in planning and executing large-scale IT systems
•   Strategic and creative thinker
•   Experience in managing various operating system environments, including Unix, Linux, Windows and Apple
•   Good knowledge of Enterprise systems and Architecture, and use of Database Management Tools
•   Experience in procurement and contract negotiations
•   Ability to translate technical language to lay audiences, and apply complex technologies to business strategies
•   Effective verbal and written communication skills and effective presentation skills

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A first degree in computer science or related field from a reputable institution with a minimum of eight (8) years post-qualification relevant experience in organizations with complex IT technologies and business strategies. Five (5) years of this experience should have been gained at the strategic decision-making level in a multi-sited organisation

Desirable

•   A Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field from a reputable tertiary institution
•   Experience managing ERP systems and publishing software will be a distinct advantage
•   Experience in project management in New Media or software development
