Job Summary

Responsible for quality control of the processes procedures and products to be produced in the plant.

Reports to: General Manager

Key Responsibilities

•   To administer leadership over the department and ensure the effective operations of all quality control procedures
•   Plan effectively and ensure consistency of quality systems and documentation
•   To approve or reject starting materials, packaging materials and intermediate, bulk and finished products in relation to their specifications
•   To evaluate batch records
•   To ensure that all necessary testing is carried out.
•   To  approve sampling instructions, specifications, test methods and other quality control procedures
•   To approve and monitor analyses carried out under contract
•   To check the maintenance of the department, premises and equipment
•   To ensure GLP compliance in quality control
•   To ensure that appropriate validations, including those of analytical procedures and calibrations of control equipment are carried out
•   To establish expiry dates and shelf-life specifications on the basis of stability tests related to storage conditions
•   Perform any other duties assigned by management

Qualification Required & Experience

•   At least a Master's degree or its equivalent in Chemistry / Pharmacy
•   At least five (5) years of experience in similar role
•   Demonstrated leadership and management
•   Ability to manage subordinates to achieve set goals
•   Good communicator with high degree of maturity, judgement, ingenuity and good analytical skills
•   A team player
