Job Vacancy For Head of Urban Roads Department of MMA’s At Local Government Service (Nationwide Recruitment)
Job Purpose:
The Head of Urban Roads Department shall report to the Coordinating Director and shall advise the Metropolitan and Municipal Assemblies on the formulation and implementation of Urban Roads policies,
Key Responsibilities/Job Summary:
• Participates in the preparation of Composite Budget and Annual Action Plan for the MMA;
• Supervises the collection of data for planning and development of urban roads infrastructure of the MMAs;
• Establishes and maintains a database on urban roads infrastructure in the MMAs;
• Maintains records of classified contractors and consultants in the urban roads construction industry;
• Facilitates the prioritization of works for the preparation of annual plans;
• Prepares progress and annual reports on urban roads works;
• Assists the evaluation of road designs by consultants;
• Facilitates capacity building of contractors and stakeholders.
Qualification Required & Experience
• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Building Technology or equivalent relevant discipline;
• A Master's Degree (MSc, MPhil) inEngineering, Building Technology or equivalent relevant discipline from a recognized University shall be an added advantage;
• A minimum of Eight (8) years working experience with two (2),years in a managerial position (Senior Grade, it's equivalent or above);
• Working knowledge of Local Government System;
• A staff of Local Government Service, and
• A member of a recognized professional body.
• Must be self-disciplined and self-motivated;
• Ability to facilitate collaboration across teams to achieve a common goal;
• Ability to initiate, define and address high-level challenges and opportunities;
• Problem solving and analytical skills;
• Ability to use variety of communication vehicles to promote dialogue and develop shared understanding and consensus;
• Be able to analyze and synthesize information to understand issues, identify options and support sound decision making;
• Must be computer literate.
