Applications are invited for appointment as Internal Auditor at the Methodist University College Ghana.
The internal Auditor is the Head of the internal Audit Section and shall be responsible to the Principal for the following duties;
• Ensuring the establishment and operation of an efficient and effective financial controlling system.
• Vetting all proposed expenditures to ensure compliance with laid-down internal controlling systems and other statutory requirements.
• Conducting periodic examination of the accounts of the University College.
• Monitoring and ensuring that all expenditures incurred have been authorized and are within
budgetary provisions.
• Conducting periodic management audit and submitting reports to the Principal.
• Liaising with External Auditors and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken on reported audit findings.
• Submitting periodic audit reports on the activities of Departments/Units to the Principal,
• Verifying procurement to ensure that they conform to laid-down procedures.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Must possess a good first degree in Accounting;
• Must in addition have a Master’s degrees (preferably in Accounting/Finance/Audit) and should be a chartered member of a recognized professional Accountancy body.
• Must be above reproach and must exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organizational skills;
• Must have the capacity to motivate and direct staff.
Terms of Appointment
• The appointment is full time and shall be for four (4) years in the first instance and may be renewed for further terms.
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
