Main Purpose of Job:

•   Support the Migration Section in administrative/project work; events management and communications.

Roles and Responsibilities:

•   Support MDA in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating Migration Fund projects in Ghana, particularly returns/reintegration projects, irregular migration sensitisation campaigns and capacity building project for GoG MMDAs.
•   Following up on meeting schedules and appointments.
•   Draft minutes of meetings with action points
•   Regular update stakeholder list; filing of correspondence/reports in both electronic and manual formats.
•   Support in organising events- writing and sending out invites to stakeholders, making follow-ups on attendance, and drafting briefs on events with recommendations for future events.
•   Provide media- worthy communication on Migration Section’s activities, for publication on Post’s website
•   Monitor news items in the local and international media that have direct impact on our work and make press-cuttings for reference purposes.
•   Support MDA during migration operations
•   Follow-up on stakeholders on nationality confirmation issues.

Qualification Required & Experience

Other Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
Essential on arrival:

•   A continuing student or graduate from a recognised tertiary institution.
•   Knowledge of Ghana’s political, economic, social and cultural environment.
•   Excellent command of English, oral and written communication.
•   Experience in project/budget management.
•   Self-starter with proven ability to work effectively with little supervision.
•   Proactive and strategic approach to work, maintaining flexibility and initiative in performance
•   Experience in or commitment to operational delivery
•   Possess information management/protection skills with a high level of emotional intelligence.

Desirable:

•   Fluency in French language
