Role Summary
Reporting to the Fund Manager (Head, Investments), to conduct investment analysis, operations and research.

Key Accountabilities
Duties include

•   Working with models, gathering and analyzing economic, financial market, company specific data
•   Conduct independent research on the economy and financial markets
•   Provide up to date intelligence and feedback on stocks under coverage
•   Gathering and analyzing financial information relating to specific companies, e.g. company results, profit and loss and cash statement
•   Regular communication with the management of the companies and their investor relations team
•   Developing and maintaining data on clients and major financial indicators and summaries of research
•   Keeping up to date with market developments, new investment products and all other areas that can affect the markets, e.g movements in the economies of relevant company’s
•   Monitoring the financial news using specialist media sources
•   Writing research report and investment ideas to be sent to clients
•   Making presentations and recommendations as to which funds should be included in portfolio managers’ portfolios
•   To generate leads for investment purposes
•   Issuing periodic reports on the performance of the financial market
•   Any other duties assigned by the head of department from time to time

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum first degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or any other related area or any other related area
•   GSE Securities Industry Course will be an advantage
•   A postgraduate qualification will be an advantage
•   Previous experience in investment analysis and research in the financial sector•   Professional qualifications (or progress) in finance and investments like CFA will be an advantage

Key Competencies, expertise & knowledge

•   Proven ability and knowledge of investment and economic research
•   Practical understanding of how economies and financial markets operate
•   Demonstrated knowledge of valuation techniques
•   Proficient in financial statement analysis
•   Spreadsheet modeling and analysis
•   Knowledge and experience in valuation analysis
•   Good analytic skills
