Masara N' Arziki Farmers Association is a farmers association and is active in the Northern sector of Ghana with it secretariat in Tamale. At the moment Masara has over 10,000 members with over 52,000 acres and the association is providing several services to its members including provision of agro inputs on credit, extension services, and buying of maize for at a guaranteed price. Masara is managed by professional staff and an elected Executive Council.

Masara is looking to employ the following under listed employees:- Junior Agronomic Officer

The Junior Agronomic officer will be responsible for the development and management of all Masara N’Arkizi research trials in the field. She/He will be involved in the entire process of planning and executing of all field trials and oversee all the stages of the trial fields. She/he will work with and report to the extension manager. The results of the research trials will be used to inform development decisions in Masara operations.

Main Responsibility and Skills Required:
This will include but not limited to the following

•   Have a minimum of 5 years professional experience in trial field management i.e planning, preparing and organising trials on the sites
•   Proven ability to undertake detailed statistical planning, gathering and accurately recording data
•   Proven technical knowledge of Ghana's soil types, staple and cash crops
•   To monitor field conditions in close detail and supervising application of chemicals to trials
•   Balancing the demands of new experiment designs with site limitations
•   Recording and processing result, using specialize softwares
•   Proven ability to analyze field situations and take initiative, writing and presentation of reports
•   Ability to work to a high level of confidentiality and strictly to protocal
•   Overseeing the running of research / trial sites

Qualification Required & Experience

•   At least HND or Bachelor's degree holder in agronomy or a related course
•   IT literate
•   Ability to communicate effectively, time management and interpersonal skills
•   At least 5 years working experience in a similar or related capacity
•   Young and dynamic with high level of initiative and enthusiasm
•   Holder of a motorbike driving license
