Perseus Mining is a dual listed (Australia, Toronto) gold miner and explorer focused on the West African region. Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited (PMGL) has recently commissioned the world-class Edikan gold project in the Western Region of Ghana.

Edikan Gold Mine (EGM) has a current mining reserve of 3.3M oz of gold from a resource base of 4.3M oz. The Edikan processing facility has been designed as a 5.5Mtpa processing facility with the ability to expand this to 8Mtpa in the future. The plant is capable of producing at a rate of 220-270,000oz gold

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will report to the Financial Controller and will have the following responsibilities:

•   Preparation of monthly management accounting reports to assist in management decision making
•   Ensuring completeness of periodic cost before cost close
•   Ensuring confidentiality of information at all times
•   Assisting wirh the preparation of budgets and implementation of budget control strategies
•   Establishing and maintaining good com-munication channels between departments to allow accurate and timeous dissemination of relevant information to the right people
•   Understanding and applying latest accounting rules and regulations and determine the impact of changes to the business
•   Ensuring the proper administration of Fixed Assets systems

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Tertiary qualification in Accountancy
•   Exposure to ERP management systems and protocols
•   Minimum of 3 years' experience on operational mine sites and specifically in Finance
•   Qualification and membership in an accounting body
