Duties
• Conduct pre-loss survey of assets (plant, machinery and related equipment) for insurance underwriting purposes and recommend measures to protect the assets against loss
• Investigate causes of loss or damage to insured properties
• Assess the nature and extent of loss or damage to insured assets and recommend remedial actions necessary for their restoration
• Solicit for technical and general information for vetting and revision of claim estimates
• Undertake market surveys for competitive prices and rates of items/works for vetting and revision of repair/replacement cost estimates
• Vet assets repair/placement cost estimates and claim supporting documents and accordingly revise the cost estimates
• Hold discussions with insurance claimants on revised cost estimates as part of claims handling process
• Prepare reports on pre and post-loss surveys and other executed assignments for decision making
Qualification Required & Experience
• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years working experience in manufacturing/processing, refinery or thermal power plant environment
OR
• Higher National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of working experience in manufacturing/processing, refinery or thermal power plant environment
• Membership of the Ghana Institution of Engineers or related professional body will be an advantage
Key Skills and Abilities
• Must be computer literate and have strong analytical and data management skills
• Must be a person of sound judgement and high integrity
• Must have good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with clients
• Must have good report writing skills
• Must have the capacity to work under pressure and travel outside place of work on short notices
Age Limit: Applicant must be between the ages of 30 and 40 and must be energetic
