For the Green Innovation Center Programme the German consulting company AFC Agriculture and Finance Consultants and its Ghanaian partner CDC Consult are improving the livelihood of small holder farmers in the rice and the maize value chains in Ghana.

In the frame of this project, we are looking for: National Long-Term Expert (Maize / Rice)

Qualification Required & Experience

• Academic Degree in Agriculture or a discipline relevant to the project
• At least 10 years professional experience in the agriculture development with farmers and with up and down-stream stakeholders along the value chains (rice and/or maize)
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the maize and or rice value chain
• Proven management competencies
• Proven work experience in value chain promotion in general at all value chain levels, producers, private sector and participant government and NGOs, as well as in improving the framework for value chains and knowledge management
• Work experience in complex projects
• Proven experience of gender-sensitive activities
• Excellent communication and networking abilities
• Proven relevant professional experience in ICT
• Command of oral and written English

Location: Kumasi, frequent traveling in Ashanti and to Accra.
