Job Vacancy For New Development Manager
A forward thinking property firm, which seeks a highly experienced New Development Manager for on-going projects.
In the role, your responsibility will include:
• To take the lead in managing designated projects from end-to-end
• To deliver projects on time and within budget
• Ensuring that programme plans are in place and are continually updated to achieve organisational objectives and priorities
• Write complex and detailed project commercial/technical reports and keep up-to-date with changes within the industry, at all times
• Ensure that all programme and project level risks and issues are identified, along with resolution proposals to the Senior Management
• Carry out the necessary professional duties to effectively manage and coordinate project managers as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Lead on and be active and responsible in compliance with the organisation’s procedures and professional practice development in Asset Management to ensure the maintenance and improvement of knowledge and capabilities
• Actively ensure that projects are procured in accordance with the organisations approved policies and procedures
• Working with the Managing Director to actively ensure projects are progressed with the necessary democratic reports in place
• Actively be accountable and responsible for establishing, implementing, reviewing and revising plans which translate strategy and priorities into delivery in line with the customer and the Board’s demands.
• Be accountable and responsible for setting priorities and putting effective delivery plans in place
• Accountable and responsible for the day-to-day operations, management and reporting, of service delivery in line with budgets, service plans, organisational priorities and service procedures
• Ensure clear Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are in place where appropriate, covering all aspects of service delivery with performance and response levels, together with the escalation process if SLAs are not met
• Strategic contribution to overall management of designated programmes of work
• Be responsible for the effective management, communication of development plans, key objectives and targets to all members of the project team and the subsequent monitoring and reporting
• To take responsibility for the effective management of the allocated budget for the development programme
Qualification Required & Experience
You must be strong project manager with a good eye for detail who must be able to lead a team effectively and without supervision; and have the following skills and experience:
• MRICS or equivalent
• Construction/Property-related degree or equivalent
• Significant experience of working as a Senior Project Manager on both minor and major projects, of large complex programmes of work, effectively managing and coordinating both internal and external project teams, clients, stakeholders and Contractors
• Significant experience of effective management of both technical and commercial matters relating to projects
• Evidence of knowledge of professional project management practices and methodology
• Evidence of knowledge of Consultant appointments, construction contracts, warranties and other ancillary project documentation and the legal issues affecting design and construction projects
• Evidence of knowledge of Planning, Building Regulations and Building Standards legislation, along with standards relating to construction
• Evidence of knowledge of and skills in procurement, tender evaluation and reports
