Job Vacancy For Not-For-Profit Executive Director



A non-government, not-for-profit, organization established to preserve and conserve, cultural and historic heritage in the central region of Ghana.

General Purpose

• The organization is seeking a highly motivated and eco-conscious professional, for the position of Executive Director.
• The Executive Director reports to the Board of Trustees and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission, and financial objectives, including community relations.

General Responsibilities

1) Governance

Works with board of trustees in order to fulfill the organization's mission

• Responsible for leading the organization, in a manner that supports and guides the organization's mission, as defined by the board of trustees
• Responsible for communicating effectively with the board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the board to function properly and to make informed decisions.

2) Financial

Manages resources to ensure the financial health of the organization

• Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the trust, submission to the board a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial state of the organization

Qualification Required & Experience

• A first Degree in conservation and development, natural resource management, Business Management, Project Management or any related field
• 5 or more years senior nonprofit management experience
• Action/Result oriented, with budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis decision-making and reporting
• Credible management abilities, planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
• Transparent and high integrity leadership values

Working Conditions

• The Executive Director will work in an office environment, but the mission of the trust will sometimes take him, or her to non-standard workplaces
• The Executive Director normally works a standard (40 hrs) work week, but occasionally will work some weekends, holidays and after office hours to accommodate activities such as board meetings and representing the organization at public events.
