Primary Purpose of the Position:

•   To mainly handle issues related to business application, software development, deployment, installation, testing, troubleshooting, debugging and training.

Essential Functions /Duties of the Position:

•   Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in Techlife software application to meet changing user requirements
•   Provide SQL database administration in live and test environments
•   Provides assistance and advice to users in the effective use of applications and information technology
•   Analyze data contained in the corporate database and identify data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and implement solutions
•   Assist in managing an outsource relationship for 3rd party application development and programming consultants (Globe Inform Management System).
•   Assist network administrator with application installation and testing
•   Assist in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing Microsoft and Linux based systems
•   Writing codes for some in-house IT projects maintaining systems by monitoring and correcting software defects
•   Assist in deploying software to automate and enhance business processes
•   Liaising with Cornett to ensure smooth running of the mobile collection platform, Madiba;
•   Ensuring daily, weekly and monthly backups of all data sources
•   Give general IT support in absence of other IS & T staff
•   Performing any other duty as may be required by the IS & T manager

Qualification Required & Experience

•   2 years in software or systems development
•   Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline
•   Knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications
•   Technical experience with systems networking, databases, Web development, and user support.
•   Good background in Database design in Microsoft SQL.
•   Background in Microsoft dot NET, Visual Basic, Excel, Word, Outlook, HTML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, CSS, Knowledge of IIS, Visual Studio
•   Technical experience of Virtual machines software such as HYPER-V
•   Experience in Microsoft Windows operating systems, Linux and Office 365
•   Experience in software development preferably in the insurance industry
•   Knowledge of Active Directory and systems configuration
•   Knowledge of Visual Foxpro is a plus
