Role Purpose
As Performance & Development (P&D) Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of business results. You will achieve this through the creation and proper execution of strategic and business-aligned performance and learning initiatives. To be successful in this role, you will need to have a sound understanding of Tigo's business, and the ability to use this understanding to create and drive P&D initiatives that have a deep impact on business results. You will also need to have the ability to work directly with (and influence) line managers in order to drive the business agenda through the P&D initiatives you champion.
Key Responsibilities
You will contribute to the achievement of business results by, among other things:
• Thinking about and using blended learning as a way to meet business needs
• Understanding and properly using Millicom's leadership competency model
• Creating and implementing business-aligned P&D initiatives
• Proper program management and evaluation to demonstrate the effect on the business of P&D initiatives
• Proper implementation of the Tigo performance management process (i.e. objective setting, reviews etc)
Providing support to line managers and employees in the completion of the performance management cycle
• Identifying and making recommendations for competency development, based on competency mapping
Initiating and leading projects that improve employee performance
• Working with line managers to create a visible path to career development for employees
Working with line managers to drive succession planning in all key roles i.e. identify and develop successors
Qualification Required & Experience
• 4-8 years work experience in a similar or related field
• First degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology or a related discipline. MBA in commercial disciplines a plus. Direct commercial/line experience a very strong advantage
• HR Business Partner experience a strong advantage
• Direct experience creating and managing budgets
• Experience in HR Administration, L&D and Culture Change Management in a multinational organization. In addition, it is desirable to have experience of independently managing the above functions
• Good knowledge of functional trends in the telecom industry, together with the ability to provide strategic focus
• Intellectual maturity and sensitivity to strike a balance between employee & organizational interests
• Technical and soft skills curriculum architecture experience strongly desired
• Direct experience working closely with line managers to fully understand the performance drivers of their businesses in order to support them in:
-Mapping the critical competencies required in their teams to deliver key strategic outcomes
-Creating improvement programs to fill existing gaps in current and future competency requirements
-Creating key performance indicators to properly measure performance on outcomes that drive the business

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to engage key stakeholders within the organization in order to drive the performance and development agenda
• Strong analytical and numerical/quantitative skills. Strong business acumen and MS Excel skills and advantage
• Flexible, results oriented and able to work in a project-driven environment
• Good command of leadership and sales development practices, plus capability for training course delivery
• Good understanding of competence management processes and tools
• Sound consulting and course designing skills, together with good presentation and facilitation skills
• Ability to multi-task, with strong project management and decision-making skills
