Job Purpose:

To assist the Pharmacist in providing quality cost-effective pharmaceutical care to patients attending the clinic

Job Description

•   Assist in the processing of pharmacy data in an IT-enabled dispensing environment
•   Perform medical stock management duties including the use of Oracle Inventory Software
•   Process presciptions in compliance with legislation and established policies and procedures under pharmacist supervision
•   Perform compounding of extemporaneous preparation
•   Collaborate with the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals in delivering quality service.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of Higher National Diploma in Dispensing Technology or equivalent qualification from the Polytechnic
•   Additional post-qualification training in the application og

Work Experience:

•   Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in hospital pharmacy practice in an IT-enabled environment.

•   Computer skills in pharmacy data capture, processing and analysis
•   Skills in dispensing of pharmaceutical drugs
•   Skills in record keeping and compilation of statistics
