Job Vacancy For Programme Officer (M&E) At World Food Programme (Tamale)

The office of the UN World Food Programme, Accra invites applications from suitable candidates to fill the vacancy above.

Duration: 1 year fixed Term (Renewable)
Post Grade: NOB

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Programme, and the overall supervision of the Country Director, the Programme Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

•   Manage and coordinate  monitoring and evaluation activities for all programme actitives in the three Northern Regions, Brong Ahafo and Volta regions.
•   Provide data and analysis inputs to the preparation of M&E periodic reports, standard project reports, annual reports and fact sheets;
•   Assist the WFP Sub-office/Field Office and Country Office in organizing and undertaking periodic monitoring and evaluation missions in the field.
•   Take lead role in adapting the already developed M&E data base to evolving needs and in line with corporate IT standards (improve the design of forms, customize tables, forms and reports based on updated field tools, create database reports.
•   Perform other basic statistical analysis (upon request) that can  be automated from the database;
•   Administer users, user rights and security settings of the M&E database and ensure that all intended users are continuously connected to the database or able to use it offline;
•   Ensure good database and perform quality control on data entry into the database before processing the data;
•   Provide trainings for SO/FO staff on use of PDAs and provide assistance for data transfer into the database after data collections;
•   Provide training  in  M&E to WFP staff.  Cooperating  Partners and Government counterparts in the three Northern Regions;
•   Apply and/or ensure high professional standards in line with UN Evaluation and Monitoring Norms & Standards and Code of Conduct for M&E in theUN System;

Qualification Required & Experience

•   University degree in one or more of the following disciplines: economics, agriculture, international affairs, business administration, science, social sciences, development studies or a field relevant to international development assistance
•   At least 3 years of postgraduate professional experience in commerce, business administration, development, or food aid support
•   Excellent knowledge of computer software

Language: Fluency in both written and oral English
