COTVET was set up by an Act of Parliament to formulate national policies on skills development across pre-tertiary and tertiary education, in both the formal and non formal sectors of the economy. COTVET is also to co-ordinate, harmonize and supervise the activities of private and public providers of technical and vocational education and training (TVET), including apprenticeship

Job Purpose

To assist in the development of processes and procedures for the delivery of TVET to ensure quality and achievement of standards; evaluating the effectiveness of training at institutional and industry level and making recommendations to enhance efficient delivery of quality training.

Responsibilities

•   Assist in monitoring compliance with COTVET's quality requirements, rules and procedures through visits to TVET providers
•   Assist in the documentation of quality assurance standards and criteria.
•   Assist in establishing and monitoring achievement of service delivery standards for COTVET and investigate instances of non-compliance with service standards.
•   Provides secretarial and technical services to the Training Quality Assurance Committee
•   Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A first degree in Education or related area
•   At least five years’ post qualification experience in the development of quality assurance procedures for standards, curricula, assessment and institutions preferably in the TVET sector.
