PUMA Energy Requires Regional Buyer for immediate employment.

Job Title: Regional Buyer
Department: Procurement
Reports to: Regional Procurement Manager
Key responsibilities (List major areas of position responsibilities, in priority order)
•  To support the ongoing Procurement transformation in West Africa by analysing “as is situation”; existing suppliers and the in scope spend, communicating with the business partners and identifying opportunities. Drive compliance to achieve company goals.
•  Identify procurement gaps in the countries and develop a plan to close the gaps. Provide a “one stop” procurement service along with the junior buyer to the in country Puma Business Partners.
•  Manage the Vendor list and PO generation in the Navision system and ensure compliance by business partners, sundry buyers, designated buyers and other stakeholders to all Puma Procurement policies and processes
•  Ensure the ongoing assessment, accreditation, development and maintenance of relationships with key local suppliers.
•  Apply sourcing and market knowledge to the country’s third party non- hydrocarbon spend, proving the value of applied procurement skills
•  Manage (with the junior buyer) the sourcing of goods and services for the West African countries’ and their business needs within the delegated levels of spend and processes
•  Accountable for assuring that the business partner requirements are met while optimising value
•  Negotiate, prepare (using templates) and execute contracts and purchase orders for the Puma West African countries
•  Develop and monitor “scorecards” with suppliers and business partners to ensure continuous improvement
•  Effectively align and coordinate work with the business partners and obtain periodic customer feedback to improve service delivery.
•  Attend meetings, conferences, submit reports etc as may be required and travel to other countries as may be required
•  Prepare, manage and maintain a data base of products and services purchased and of the local suppliers in West Africa
Qualification Required & Experience
•  5 to 7 years in a Procurement role or buying function
•  Tertiary qualification in Business Management or Procurement / Supply Chain Management
