Job Vacancy For Senior Control Systems Technician At MODEC Ghana Limited (Accra and Takoradi)
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides Engineering support to achieve and maintain the technical and performance integrity of the FPSO Facility.
• Provides production and operations engineering change support for the Facility’s systems including power generation, production process control systems, utility and marine systems.
• Provides I&E and Control systems support to the FPSO’S systems technicians, engineers and managers.
• Strong troubleshooting & knowledge with DCS, programmable logic controllers and associated hardware is desirable, specifically for:
a) Power generation, gas turbine units
b) Yokogawa Centum VP DCS system
c) Other applicable FPSO PLC’s
d) FCS / FGS / SIS.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical safety acts, regulations, standards and international codes.
• Management and coordination of all project processes from budget preparation, financial approvals, schedule and cost estimates, risk and quality management, project execution and closure.
• Previous experience with the operation and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems within a large scale process plant.
Qualification Required & Experience
• A tertiary qualification such as a Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation & Control engineering or equivalent. (E)
• Chemical or suitably experienced Electrical / Instrumentation Engineer (D)
Experience:
• 10 years experience in the hydrocarbon or offshore oil & gas industry desirably with Floating Production facilities. (E)
• Experience with high voltage systems, Yokogawa DCS systems, HMI systems, instrumentation & control systems. (D)
E) = Essential requirement that must be met before a candidate is appointed
D) = Desirable requirement. Candidate may be appointed, with discretion, without full achievement of criterion but the indicated competence should be developed.
Team Working:
• Adopt flexible working attitude to provide support across departments to ensure team success.
• Conduct work group / toolbox briefings.
• Create, maintain & enhance effective working relations and identify & minimise interpersonal conflict.
• Maintain effective communication with Supervisors and other work groups.
Communications/Reporting:
• To report any defect or inspection report to relevant Production Supervisor in a clear and concise manner and record all relevant information in logs as required.
• Ensure a safe and comprehensive handover is given at shift or crew change with all pertinent operational and maintenance information to relevant personnel.
• Provide required input to vessel meetings, planning, initiatives etc.
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
• Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with the Safety Management System, including vessel safety regulations and positively support all safety initiatives and improvements
• Proactively contribute to delivery against HSE plans and improvement objectives.
• Be aware of physical condition of plant & equipment to ensure technical integrity is maintained; raise issues and concerns identified.
