Job Overview & Key Responsibilities:
The Lead Development Geologist will be responsible for, and play an active hands-on role in, all aspects of the work of the Development Geology team within the Subsurface Department.
The duties of the development geology team include:
• Regular updates / correlations for ongoing wells.
• Geological support in well interpretation / drilling / perforation
• Geological studies, evaluation and QC.
• Geological input to ongoing & future field development / infill planning studies.
• Field volumetric assessment for mid-year & year-end reserve exercises, including working with independent reserves auditors.
• Petrel geo-modeling studies, including providing input to the construction of reservoir simulation models in ECLIPSE
Qualification Required & Experience
• Degree: Masters or PhD Degree in geology or equivalent
Skills:
• Experience: Extensive experience in industry with strong background in development geology.
• Extensive experience in the Oil and Gas industry, working as a Reservoir / Development Geologist with an Operating Company
• Generation of 3D geocellular models using Petrel to aid appraisal and development activities.
• Experience in a team lead role essential; experience of mentoring junior staff highly desirable
• Excellent technical computer skills are required.
• Fluency of written and spoken English language is required.

Location: The position will be based in Accra, Ghana with occasional travel to UK / elsewhere
