Job Purpose:
• The Construction Engineer is part of the TEN in country team and is responsible to support the delivery of all in-country fabrication of the TEN project.
• Visit or be resident at Contractor worksites to monitor, assess and track all TEN construction work executed in-country by Contractors.
• Manage the interface at site level between Tullow, the TEN contractors for FSPO and subsea and the subcontractors.
• Works with TEN Project Contractors to meet safety, quality and performance requirements, on schedule.
• Ensure safe, on time and punch list free delivery of TEN fabrication packages for offshore installation in accordance with the project schedule.
The position is primarily based in Takoradi/Sekondi and is rotational based on a 28on/28off basis with suitable handover allowances coupled with a degree of flexibility.
Responsibilities / Key Objectives:
• Provide on-site EHS leadership and ensure that individual Site Safety Management Systems are consistent with the TEN EHS plan.
• Identify the major construction EHS hazards for the delivery scopes in consultation with Construction manager and others, ensure that these hazards are mitigated to acceptable risk levels.
• Work with the EHS Advisor to provide specialist EHS input for construction activities
• Positively coach the contractors to achieve delivery, without compromise on safety or quality.
• Manage interfaces at site level between Tullow, TEN Contractors and their fabrication subcontractors.
• In consultation with Construction manager, identify Construction schedule risks and work with Contractors to develop and implement realistic mitigation measures to protect delivery schedule.
• Monitor and report on Contractors construction schedules
• Review contractors construction methods and build sequence to ensure selected methods are safe to personnel and do not compromise the integrity of the works
• Work with Quality Co-ordinator and Quality inspectors to ensure that Contractor work scopes are delivered in line with ITP and functional requirements.
• Provide accurate reports on progress and areas of improvement and concern in a calm, measured and proactive manner.
Financial Responsibility: As per delegation of Authority from Construction Manager
Qualification Required & Experience
Education:
• Significant experience of construction in upstream oil and gas business with proven experience with FPSOs or subsea infrastructure construction and handover to commissioning.
• Educational or vocational qualifications relevant to fabrication and/or construction management preferred.
