IWAD is a newly incorporated company with the mandate to develop and manage the sisili Kulpawn Irrigation Project in the Northern Region of Ghana. The company's vision is to expand commercially viable irrigation practices in the Sisili-Kulpawn basin through the delivery of high quality irrigation support, new technology development and knowledge transfer, promoting water use efficiency and sustainability and secure farmer revenues for both smallholders and the nucleus estates. To help bring this vision to crystallization, we are looking for qualified and self-motivated professionals to assume the following positions at contribute to the implementation of the project.

Key Functions & Responsibilities

•   Provide technical guidance on participatory water management approaches and irrigation options for the project.
•   Promote pro-water governance and focus on raising capacity on water management flood mitigation in the field
•   Lead in the organisation of farmers into small groups and cooperatives
•   Carry out training and capacity building for water User groups
•   Prepare ideas for innovative actions (including water application techniques, irrigation methods and field layout that can promote efficient and sustainable use of water and ensure effective dissemination at local level

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Applicants must havea a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural / Irrigation Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution
•   At least four (4) years post qualification relevant field experience in irrigation and water management, watershed management, soil and water conservation

Required Knowledge, Skills & competencies

•   Proven ability working with smallholder Farmers
•   Ability to work with small groups of farmers
•   Excellent Oral and written communication skills
•   Strong strategic orientation
•   Proactive and an avid team player
•   Analytical / problem solving skills
