Job Vacancy For Store Manager At Ghana Oil Palm Development Company (GOPDC) – Kwae, near Kade
A leading integrated agro-industrial company is looking to recruit a Store Manager. This is a key role that will manage the stores and warehouse functions within the company. The successful candidate must have previous experience working in similar role and be confident communicating with internal departments, suppliers and subsidiaries within the group.
Primary Objective
• coordinate, manage and control work of storekeepers
• Ensure compliance to the Store Procedures by communicating the standards and procedures and monitoring their application
• Responsible for the daily operations of the store
• Administer stock control and stock level management policies and procedures
• Participate actively in the continuous improvement process of the store
Key Responsibilities
• Stores overall management, including control of inventory of spares stock level management (including stock min, stock max and order quantity, pareto analysis ABC method), cleanliness of stores, follow up off KPI's launch, propose and manage improvements with the support of group store coordinator
• Train, supervise, control and appraise staff
• Procurement, manage orders in compliance with the company procedure
• check documents for thoroughness and completeness and prepare additional documentation when necessary
• Supervise and ensure accuracy and integrity of data in the system
• Take periodic stock taking and participate in the stock taking program
• Analyse issues and propose improvements in order to perform better according to the objectives
• Produce weekly and monthly reports
• Participate actively in the continuous improvement program of the store
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Strong work ethics, excellent communication, organisational and time management skills, having an aptitude for numbers, be a strong problem solver and able to work in a high pressure environment
• Good understanding of distribution and logistics activities within a large warehouse environment would be advantageous
• Good team leader, highly motivated and results oriented
• Good IT skills and knowledge of imports procedures
Qualification Required & Experience
• University degree (Degree in "Supply chain management" or equivalent)
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
• Previous exposure to West Africa
