Job Vacancy For Stores Superintendent



Job Summary

•   Supervision of the Stores Section, ensure accurate store records at all times.

Position Reporting

•   Reports to: Finance Manager
•   Reporting to this position: 4 Stores staff
•   Internal Key contacts: Various internal clients (departments), Purchasing Department

Job Description

•   Manage stores staff (scheduling, training, disciplining, appraising, etc.)
•   Ensure that goods delivered meet the required specifications
•   Ensure timely and accurate processing of stores documents (issues & receipts)
•   Ensure that store records are accurate and up-to-date (perform periodic stock takes)
•   Ensure user departments are informed of deliveries
•   Ensure that documents have the required approvals (issues of goods)
•   Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations on storage and handling of items
•   Ensure appropriate storage & identification of goods
•   Ensure that the company’s stores policies & procedures are strictly adhered to
•   Compliance with the company’s Standard Operating Procedures
•   Compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety regulations

Qualification Required & Experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•   The ability to interpret and analyse numbers
•   The ability to communicate in English (written & verbal)
•   High degree of honesty and integrity
•   Knowledge of and experience with computerized inventory control systems
•   Accounting knowledge (understand impact of stores operations on the accounting system)
•   Experience with Microsoft Excel and SunSystems is preferred
•   Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 5 years post qualification experience, of which at least 2 in a  similar position
