Job Vacancy For Technical Manager
Our client is an efficient leading provider of IT Services & Hardware Infrastructure solutions for medium and large scale private and public institutions. The company is seeking experienced Managers to join its team in the following position.
Position: Technical Manager (ref-FTM)
The Technical Manager's role is to assist the Chief Technology Officer to align technology vision with business strategy by integrating company processes with the appropriate technologies. This individual is in charge of a team of engineers that maintains existing client enterprise systems, while providing direction in all technology related issues in support of the company's operations and core values.
Responsibilities & Position Requirements
• Participate as a member of the senior management team in governance processes of the company's architecture, telecommunications, networks, programming, media and desktops
• Lead strategic technological planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future technologies
• Collaborate with the appropriate departments to develop and maintain a technology plan that supports organizational needs
• Develop and communicate business / technology alignment plans to executive team, staff, partners, customers and stakeholders
• Develop business case justifications and cost / benefits analyses for technology initiatives and projects
• Define requirement for new technology service implementations and communicate them to management
• Approve, prioritize and control projects as they relate to the bidding, planning, and installation of major information systems and enterprise level solutions.
Operational Management
• Analyze and improve upon technology standards across the company to maintain a technological and competitive edge within the market
• Creatively and independently provide resolution to technical problems in a cost-effective manner
• Ensure continuous delivery of technical services through oversight of service level agreements and service requests
• Ensures that the company's helpdesk systems is well maintained and kept up to date
Qualification Required & Experience
• University degree in the field of Computer Science or Business Administration. A Masters qualification in any one these fields shall be an added advantage
• Project Management Certification e.g. PMP, PRINCE 2 would be preferred
Knowledge & Experience Requirement
• 7 years experience working in the ICT industry with at least 3 years of it in managing and/or directing technological operations
• Experience in strategic technology planning, execution and policy development
• Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including telecommunications, networks, servers, storage and virtualization technologies
• Solid understanding of computer systems characteristics, features and integration capabilities
• Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, power solutions, security and identity management
• Technical experience with systems networking, databases, Web development, and user support
• Exposure to business theory, business processes, management, budgeting and business office operations
• Excellent understanding of project management principles
• Proven experience in planning, organisation and development
• Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems
