IWAD is a newly incorporated company with the mandate to develop and manage the sisili Kulpawn Irrigation Project in the Northern Region of Ghana. The company's vision is to expand commercially viable irrigation practices in the Sisili-Kulpawn basin through the delivery of high quality irrigation support, new technology development and knowledge transfer, promoting water use efficiency and sustainability and secure farmer revenues for both smallholders and the nucleus estates. To help bring this vision to crystallization, we are looking for qualified and self-motivated professionals to assume the following positions at contribute to the implementation of the project.

Key Functions & Responsibilities

•   Supervise demonstration fields located in communities within Yagaba area
•   Provide farmers with Technical Advise (TA) on conservation farming
•   Educate farmers on agricultural inputs packages and credit and safeguard repayment of above 95% in all the communities involved
•   Supervise the caretaker(s) on the farm and guide them on proper farmer practices
•   Organise such field operations as Land Preparation, sowing, application of agrochemicals, weed management, harvesting, etc.
•   Monitor attendance of demonstrations and organize input distribution
•   Supervising and monitoring of harvesting
•   Keep records of all agronomic practices on the field as well as other parameters

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A good University degree in Bachelor of science in Agriculture/Agribusiness with at least three (3) years experience and proven practical experience in conservation farming
•   Candidates with a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least 5 years of work experience may also be considered

Required Knowledge, Skills & competencies

•   Tactful with excellent verbal and written communication skills
•   Great organisation and coordination abilities with attention to detail
•   Must be analytical, possess initiative and be able to work with minimum supervision
