Masara N' Arziki Farmers Association is a farmers association and is active in the Northern sector of Ghana with it secretariat in Tamale. At the moment Masara has over 10,000 members with over 52,000 acres and the association is providing several services to its members including provision of agro inputs on credit, extension services, and buying of maize for at a guaranteed price. Masara is managed by professional staff and an elected Executive Council.

Masara is looking to employ the following under listed employees:- Technical Trainer

Masara provides several types of training to field officers and farmer members to bring them to a level of efficiency in the execution of their task. The Technical Trainer would be responsible for equiping the field officers and the members (farmers) with the requisite field and agronomic knowlegde through field training and demonstrations. In other words they would be responsible for training and coaching field officers and farmers within a cluster. They will report directly to the extension manager.

Main Responsibility and Skills Required:

Train field officers in the field in the following areas

•   Technical aspect of cultivating Northern Ghana's mayor crops according to the Masara Training program
•   Association management, responsibilities of members, group dynamics and development according to the Masara training program
•   Proven Facilitation and training skills including the social aspects of extension, adult learning, facilitating discussions and transfer of knowledge without using classroom type style training programme
•   Proven Management skills including planning, record keeping, report writing and monitoring of results
•   Have the necessary community entry knowledge and skills for sensitization and education in rural communities
•   Coaching of field staff by observing them in the field and providing them feedback
•   Conduct impact assessment by evaluating the change of behavior and results among members

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of HND diploma or Bachelor's degree holder in either agriculture, training or similar
•   Training and facilitation skills and at least 2 years experience in facilitating training programs or change processes in rural areas.
•   Proven ability to communicate effectively, time management and intpersonal skills
•   Proven ability to work with minimum supervision and take initiative
•   Proven ability and willingness to live and travel in the rural areas of northern Ghana.
•   At least 5 years working experience
•   Young and dynamic with high level of initiative and enthusiasm
•   Holder of a motorbike driving license
